Kuata Vainikolo was born and raised in the village of Maufanga, in the Kingdom of Tonga in the South Pacific. His family roots are from the villages of Kolomotua, Mu’a and Ha'ato'u, Ha'apai. Growing up in Tonga at a young age, Kuata learned from various Punake's (Tongan choreographers) that perfected his technique and development of traditional Tongan dance. From years of performing in family events, church functions, and school activities- he cultivated the Tongan culture, heritage, and embraced the art form of male dancing.
After relocating to California, his love of dance called on him to teach and share his knowledge to the youth and young adults in local religious groups, where the traditional art of Tongan dance were sought out.
In 2018, he founded Kuata's Performing Arts and has made it his mission to preserve the Tongan culture through dance and learning in the U.S.
Our mission at Kuata's Performing Arts is to provide dancers with a unique dance experience that promotes technical ability and artistic expression in the art of Tongan dancing.
Learn the core basics of male dancing and improve posture, hand and feet movement, and coordination.
